Submitting the FAFSA

Free Application for Federal Student Aid

To apply for federal financial aid, and to apply for many state student aid programs, students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Electronic versions of the FAFSA make applying for financial aid faster and easier than ever

Important Note: When completing your FAFSA for Georgia Southern University, please be sure to enter school code 001572.

Even if you plan to attend a specific campus location, you should not search by campus name or location when adding Georgia Southern to your FAFSA. Due to recent university consolidations, other campus names may still appear in the FAFSA system. Selecting those options can delay or prevent your FAFSA from reaching the Office of Financial Aid.

Using school code 001572, which displays as Statesboro, ensures your FAFSA is received and processed correctly for all Georgia Southern students, regardless of where you plan to take classes. Taking this step helps avoid unnecessary delays and ensures we can review your financial aid as quickly as possible.
